In this case of first impression, we must decide whether an appeal sent by facsimile transmission that arrived at the receiving fax machine after the close of business on the last day for taking an appeal was "filed" within the meaning of Section 501(e) of the Unemployment Compensation Law (Law). *fn1 Ruth Dumberth petitions this court to review an order of the Unemployment Compensation Board of Review (Board) that dismissed her appeal as untimely. We reverse and remand.
